Taylor P. Calcara is a sophisticated transactional attorney with a deep understanding of a multitude of business endeavors, and extensive experience representing clients across a broad range of legal, regulatory, and business matters. He advises clients over a range of complex transactional, governance, supply arrangement, infrastructure development, financing, employment, regulatory compliance, and strategic operational issues critical to their business operations. A large portion of his practice includes a specific focus on the unique legal and business challenges facing electric cooperatives. Taylor works closely with boards of directors, executive leadership, and in-house teams to deliver practical, business-oriented counsel tailored to the cooperative model. He regularly assists clients with negotiating and drafting power purchase/sale agreements, wholesale power and transmission arrangements, construction and service contracts, financing agreements, joint-use and pole attachment agreements, asset acquisitions and dispositions, and other commercial transactions essential to utility operations.
In addition to transactional matters, Taylor counsels electric cooperative clients on corporate governance, member relations, regulatory developments and proceedings, risk management, and compliance issues arising under state and federal utility frameworks. His experience includes advising clients through complex projects involving grid modernization, renewable energy initiatives, load service requests, and evolving reliability and resiliency demands within the electric utility sector.
