Experience:
As a Western Kansas native, Clarissa is eager to serve communities in this area of the state throughout her career. Clarissa grew up in Scott City, and after moving away for higher education, she is happy to be back in rural Kansas. Clarissa resides in Scott City, where she enjoys practicing law and raising a family with her husband, Jack, who is also with the firm.
Clarissa believes that every individual, or family, has worked diligently for the assets they have obtained, and she is passionate about protecting those assets through estate plans. Clarissa comes from an agricultural background and hopes to serve agricultural clients throughout her practice, through entity formation and farm succession plans. Prior to law school, Clarissa gained invaluable experience in the courtroom by working for the county attorney in her hometown. During law school, Clarissa interned at two estate planning firms, in both Fort Worth, TX, and Manhattan, KS, and believes those experiences helped her gracefully step into her role at Watkins Calcara. Aside from her bachelor’s degree, Clarissa’s additional experience interning with Kansas Farm Bureau and shadowing the Kansas Livestock Association attorneys helps her understand agricultural issues rural clients face.
As a transactional attorney, Clarissa strives to meticulously work to ensure each client’s goals, both during their lifetime and for generations to come, are fulfilled. Clarissa hopes to serve you and your family by providing a sense of peace and comfort regarding the matters of your estate.
